Principal's Update - 31st October

Dear Families, 

With November fast approaching, things are moving quickly. Careful planning ensured a seamless process for our First Foundation Transition, which occurred last Monday. Our new students and families felt welcome and excited as they prepare for the year ahead. 

Please note that the school will be closed on Friday, November 1st, and Monday, November 4th, for Staff Professional Learning, with the additional closure for Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday, November 5th. These days provide a brief pause before the final stretch of the term for students and their families to recharge.

St Vincent de Paul Mass - Sunday 3rd November - 10 am St Columba’s

We warmly invite you to join us for a special Mass this Sunday at 10:00 am to celebrate the wonderful efforts of St Columba’s students in raising funds and awareness for Mini Vinnies.

This will be a beautiful opportunity to come together in gratitude for the students’ commitment to helping those in need and to reflect on the spirit of kindness and generosity they have shown.

Following the Mass, the Parish will be hosting Morning Tea—a chance to connect, share, and enjoy some time together as a community. We look forward to celebrating with you and your family.

Whether it is starting school for the first time, moving up to a higher grade or embarking on a journey through secondary school, there is no doubt that any school transition is a very exciting time for children and parents. 

However, for many it may also be a very anxious and stressful time for both parents and children. Parents need to be aware of their child’s feelings during any school transition and minimise anxiety so the process is an enjoyable experience for all.
